did you know that we have been a book club for about a year and a half?!

i just wanted to say thanks to all you wonderful ladies for your friendships and your excellent book selections. i have had so much fun with all of you.

Sorry I didn't get us gettin' together for my book in November. Things have been too crazy around here. But, I hope you had a chance to read the book, and if not....go ahead and give it a try and get yourself lovin' some Dr. Laura. ;-) It'll be a great way to start your new year.

The new January read...

Sorry guys, I totally blew it...I dont know how I forgot that East of Eden was already chosen (Sorry Stef!)

So, Here is the new January pick:

Did you catch the Ages 10-up part :) I read this book in 5th grade and it has stuck with me ever since. It's a really fast read, but very emotional and thought provoking for a child of that age. It was one of those that really stuck with me and helped me to appreciate what my grandparents and great-grandparents went through during the war when it came to Hawaii. It'll probably only take you a day to read it, but I'm sure it will stick with you. Enjoy!

p.s. I checked the queue on the Hawaii Library system and it looks like there are lots of copies available, so it shouldn't be a problem to pick one up.

I know I'll probably forget to post it and since November has almost come to its end, here is my pick for January--

East of Eden

This book is one of my all time favorites. It may be a little long, but it's really worth the time :) And since it's mostly about the nature of man, what better way to help us ring in the new year by helping is to remember to be good people!

so two questions:

1. crucible movie? when? yes?

2. dr. laura book mtg. this week or are we pushing it to dec.?

my schedule's getting a bit crazy, as i'm sure everyone else's is too, so just wanted to jot these events down.

i'm unreliable.

since i wasnt sure what day to get the movie for i didnt get it because we were watching the ones we had (charlie brown thanksgiving over and over and over..... maybe i should have returned it.....)

and i didnt want to get it and have it sit for a week or two if we were actually enjoying our movies.

it's not my month to organize the book club get together and i am BUSY to the max so dont plan around me but i love you all and would love to hang if it worked out.

if not, i will still get you the movie fo sho!

so whoever is in charge- tell me the date and as long as i have two-three days notice for it to be delivered i shall have it ready for you!

just to prove i'm not just being flaky: i have 20 tests to grade, 20 papers to grade, 2 lesson plans to create, 1 sub lesson plan to organize (which is even more time consuming), 1 quilt and 1 baby bag for my sewing class due, 1 ward activity, 1 enrichment planning meeting, 1 midnight showing of new moon, and 1 day of jury duty (hopefully only one day) and 1 kid with a bad cold all to take care of in a one week period.
