Yes, I am a slacker....

Sorry for not being a good book club member, but I've just been really swamped with work and family.....but that still isn't an excuse and I apologize. I will repent-- afterall, it is the season of Lent =o)

Since Thursdays seem to work for everyone, let's do our meeting on Thursday, March 12 at 8pm at my house in Kahaluu. Bring your favorite snacks, funny jokes, great stories and literary analysis. If you need directions, you can email me at:

EskaranK(at)gmail(dot)com

Thank you for your little nudges and subtle hints my friends. Sometimes I just need a little kick in the butt. If you guys wanna do something else, let me know =o)

Peace out homies!

um...

when are we getting together for pride and prejudice?

and what are we reading next month?

i have said it before and will say it again

i never get tired of this story. i am so in love with mr. darcy and i just love lizzy's personality. i can't help but let out an audible sigh when they finally get together at the end.

my favorite line from the whole book...
"He simpers, and smirks, and makes love to us all"
mr. bennett speaking to his family about mr. wickham.

what is your favorite line?

Feb Gathering

Hey girls! I'm not exactly sure what I wanna do with the gathering for P&P. My house and living room space is very limited, but if you guys don't mind, I don't mind =o)

I was thinking we could either do our usual hang out at the house thing OR we could spice it up a little bit and meet up a restaurant? Maybe a place like Haleiwa eats or El Mariachi in Kaneohe. Let me know what you guys think!

Be well,
Kristen

this is like the only book i re-read

i dont usually re-read books because i feel like there are so many other books i want to read first but i am having a lot of fun re-reading pride and prejudice as i always do. i wonder why it is the kind of book that can be read again and again. i still feel like i want to know what happens... even though i already know what happens- it's that good!

anyway, how's is everyone else enjoying it?

done and done

well, i finished the chosen today!

it's a library book and it is due tomorrow (feb 3) and so i was determined to read it before we took it back.

i was on like page 30 yesterday morning and i read like 200 pgs. yesterday and finished the rest up today.

wow! what an inspiring book in so many ways! i want to be more of a scholar after reading that- did it make anyone else want to sit at a library and be able to just read book after book and absorb all that knowledge? i was seriously inspired.

i've been in kind of a reading slump lately, and this read-a-thon was the perfect kick in the buns to get reading again.

on to one of my favs- pride and prejudice! great pick kristen and thanks for your pick liko!
