i like the name scout, but i can never convince thomas to like it

i started reading to kill a mockingbird yesterday and some of it is really familiar and most of it feels like i am reading it for the first time. after the first about four pages, i really got into it and i am loving it so far.

have you started?? haha - get on it! we only have a couple more weeks until party time.

i am also looking forward to hanging out with you all at echo's sweeeeeet pad this tuesday night! i liked the accidental tourist too. i am glad i read it. i think i read some review (maybe on the actual book now that i think of it) about the characters being so familiar that you would meet them in your community and although i think the characters are each eccentric in their own way- i would totally have to agree. i really wanted to know who macon would end up with and my heart ached every time they talked about losing their son. anyway, the ordianry-ness of the book was comfortable and enjoyable and a non-stressful (sometimes stressful can be good too- like if you're in the mood for an action/thriller novel) read so thanks melissa! good pick.

it's cool to be a part of a group like this, because i probably wouldnt have read these books otherwise.

thanks.

I felt the same thing about accidental tourist. it was nothing spectacular, but it was like you were reading a book about people you already knew.

Scout is such a cute name, i totally think you should name your new baby girl that. ;)

i am excited to start reading to kill a mocking bird. i believe it was the ONLY book i read all the way through for my english class in highschool. (back in rebellious i hate to read days)
i too, also love the name scout but run into the same issue of the reluctant husband. silly men, they don't know a good name when they hear it.

i like being in the group too, because it helps me to read, which makes me feel like i am getting some intellectual stimulation.
i love books! although i hated when i had to read like tons in college. and i love the name scout, and i know atticus (holladay photo guy's son) and i think that is such a cute name for a kid!
